Express Computers is Seeking a Web Developer
Express Computers Web Services is currently accepting applications for the following position:
Web Developer
Working from our South Surrey Head Office, the web developer will be responsible for front-end and back-end development of standards-compliant, cross-browser compatible websites. The web developer will need strong problem solving skills and a natural talent for visualizing solutions on the fly. The web developer will be working closely with web designers to ensure smooth implementation of front end design, and will also be responsible for revising and troubleshooting pre-existing websites.
Those who really stand out and show exceptional skill will have an opportunity to help develop and build on a set of standards and practices that will be deployed across the development team, and to take a leadership role in ensuring they are implemented.
Minimum skills required:- MUST have a demonstrated ability to hand-code clean, simple, valid X/HTML, CSS, PHP, etc., knowledge of JavaScript and JQuery
- At least 3 years of professional experience in the field
- Strong database development skills, My/SQL
- Experience in developing with a variety of CMS; Textpattern experience a must
- Experience with ecommerce integration
- A thorough understanding of web standards, best practices, and cross-browser compatibility
- A sharp mind that can quickly comprehend requirements , visualize solutions, anticipate problems and clearly communicate along the way to keep team informed
- The ability to follow set internal coding standards and contribute to improving them
- Consistency in naming practices and production values
- Strong communication skills and an ability to maintain quality and consistency under pressure
- A knack for picking up new technologies quickly and reliably
- Enthusiasm and true passion to build your career as a developer
Other skills that would be an asset:
- Web development skills and passion that go beyond the ordinary – exploring web application frameworks, web application development, etc.
- CMS customization and plug-in development
- Facebook application development
- Mobile website/application development
